About

Hi! I'm Aritro, a 2nd year Computer Engineering student at the University of Waterloo.

I enjoy building things that are technically interesting while actively improving people's lives and the work they do. Most recently, that meant working on AI agents, full-stack platforms, and MCP servers at 8090. Lately, I've been putting more time into learning C, focusing on firmware and systems programming so that I can do the same work at a lower level of computing.

Outside of work, I love watching TV, trying (not so successfully) to learn how to cook, listening to music, and being with my family.

Experience

  1. 8090 Solutions

    Member of Technical Staff, Co-op

    May - Aug 2026

    Co-built an MCP server and DSL interpreter so that AI agents could drive an ERP platform themselves.
    Reimplemented the ERP's own JavaScript value semantics in Python so the interpreter behaved identically, with differential testing to verify the solution.
    Stopped an AI clinical assistant from suggesting stale or self-contradictory advice, and built a follow-up task tracker that nurse practitioners work from during a visit.

  2. Guelph Eye MD Clinic

    Software Developer, Co-op

    Jan - Apr 2025, Sep - Dec 2025

    Spent two terms on a platform that handles the clinic's repetitive work, anything from a Stream Deck press that sets up an exam room to preparing the weekly injection order by compiling data from multiple sources.
    Designed and built the patient callout displays, on CM5s for reliability on always-powered screens. To call a patient, a fine-tuned NER model finds their name in free-text appointment labels.

  3. Hack the North

    Backend Developer

    Mar - Oct 2025

    Shipped live food line tracking so people could see the queue before walking over, and closed a race in signup swaps that could leave someone without a slot in the middle of a switch.

  4. UW Midnight Sun Solar Car

    Firmware Developer

    Jan 2026 - present

    Wrote the firmware that reduces regenerative braking as the battery approaches its maximum capacity, so that the pack is not still taking current when it's almost full. It watches cell voltage over CAN.
